    AntiX, Debian Mint, and Ssh...

    ANSI art: antix-debian-mint-and-ssh-1

i was determined to set up my cisco 2960 before connecting it to my home network and even though i had a perfectly good connection to it via usb i wanted to be able to access it through ssh. the only laptop in the house
with an ethernet port was this dusty old x86 asus eee pc. after some digging and a partition or two i got it running antiX32 and eventually LMDE 6 "Faye"
a 32-bit debian based linux mint, as though that makes any sense.

of course i wasn't connected to a dhpc server so i had to configure static
IP addresses for both devices, and for some reason the eee pc kept giving itself an IPv6 address, which caused some headaches. after some trials and tribulations: voilą! we can manage the switch remotely through ssh.
